This is my garage gym. I call it “Unleaded Gains”. Still gives me plenty of space to park, so makes a nice use of space for something I love to do.
Here are some detailed pictures, along with what equipment I have. If you have any questions, leave a comment.
Hanging on the wall with ladder hooks is a weight vest from Again Faster. On the floor is the S-35E Rogue “E” Sled.
A GHD machine from Again Faster, with metal 45, 35, and 25 pound plates on it. I bought the plates for cheap on Craig’s List. In the back on the left are pieces of luan with duct tape around the edges. These are for doing footwork drills in the snatch and clean. On the right you can see my AbMat.
Hanging up top is my CrossFit Level 1 certificate, completed in September of 2012. I have the Rogue V2 Gun Rack for my bars, which are (top to bottom):
- 2 PVC pipes
- Rogue 15LB Technique Bar
- Rogue Operator Bar
- Rogue Chan Bar (Black Zinc Finish)
- A cheap bar that came with the metal plates I bought on Craig’s List
Lifting platform, made from a sheet of oak plywood. I spray painted the stencils, covered with 2 coats of Minwax PolyShades Pecan Satin Stain and Polyurethane in 1 Step, and sprayed once with a coat of Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Anti-Slip to give the surface some texture.
Hooks to hold up a weighted dip belt, jump ropes, and various bands.
Left to right, from top to bottom… a 50 pound kettlebell from Sports Authority. The white box in the back is full of chalk. There is a little bag of poker chips for counting rounds in workouts with a set of spring collars next to it. A 20 pound Dynamax medicine ball. Rouge kettlebells weighing 53 and 70 pounds. A cheap 8 pound medicine ball. A set of Lockjaw collars and a set of Rogue HG collars. Slam balls weighing 15 and 30 pounds from XTraining Equipment.
I built a simple plate rack out of 2x4s and spray painted it black. I have a set of 25-35-45-55 Rogue Black Training Plates, a set of 25-35-45 Again Faster Competition Bumper Plates, and Rogue Hi-Temp bumper plates with a pair of 15s and 2 pair of 10s. Everything in pounds. More metal plates with a pair of 10s, 2 pair of 5s, 2 pair of 2.5s, and some big washers for fractionals. Those are a set of Fusion Space Saver Adjustable 100-lb. Dumbbells on the left, with each dumbbell adjustable from 10 pounds up to 50, by 5 pound jumps.
Custom built plyo box that is 18″ x 24″ x 40″ and a Schwinn AD2 Airdyne Exercise Bike.
The Again Faster Home Pull-up Bar.
Rogue Wood Jerk Blocks with a set of 15″, 12″, 2 sets of 6″, and a pair of the 2.25″ tops.
The Rogue R-3 Power Rack and an adjustable bench I got off Amazon. Hanging on the wall is a magnetic dry erase board.
These are Rogue’s Wood Gymnastic Rings with a custom pulley system I built so that I didn’t have to take them down and put them back up all the time. It’s easy to hook on to the rings and store them up along the ceiling.
PVC parallettes my friend made for me.
The “No Limits” timer made by MuscleDriver USA. I bought mine brand new on eBay, which saved about $30.
A Concept2 SkiErg.
The big mats are 4′ x 6′ Rubber Horse Stall Mats from Tractor Supply Co. and I also have some of the 3/4″ puzzle mats you can get from any sporting goods store.
